How Going Vegan Made Me A Happier, More Confident Version Of Myself
I was once vegan for three years, and I highly recommend it. It doesn't matter how long you choose to transition to a vegan diet: It's something you need to try at least once in your life... even if it's just for a week.
Transitioning over to a vegan diet will be beneficial to your health and wellbeing.
I believe everybody's different, and being vegan may not work for everyone. But if it's a healthy cleanse and detox your body is asking for, try it. I promise you, your body will thank you for it.
Here are the reasons why switching over to a vegan diet will improve your confidence:
1. You are conscious about your food choices.
Transitioning over to veganism will allow you to be in control of your eating habits. You'll be making conscious choices regarding what you're putting into your body.
You will only feel better and more positive about yourself by knowing you can say "no" to certain foods, rather than feeling obligated to eat foods you know aren't good for you.
You are making the conscious decision to eat as naturally and as healthily as possible, despite the eating habits of others around you.
2. Your skin will glow.
My diet predominantly consists of steamed vegetables and, of course, raw fruits and vegetables.
I find my skin is always best when I eliminate both processed foods and animal products.
3. You'll feel lighter and have more energy.
Cleansing with nature's goodness will only make you feel lighter, and in my experience, being a vegan allowed me to have more energy throughout the day.
Cutting out meat will surprisingly allow you to feel lighter... lighter in the sense my body was content and energized with natural foods.
4. You'll feel happier.
For me, eating fruits and veggies actually puts my mood into a positive mindset.
You are what you eat... right?
5. You'll get creative.
Being vegan doesn't mean you have to cut out chocolate and sweets. In fact, I cut out processed sugars, and I love chocolate.
I had to learn to make my own chocolate or protein balls, and this allowed me to get creative in the kitchen.
Find a vegan chocolate recipe online, and come and tell me how obsessed you are with it. Vegan chocolate is delicious and good for you.
6. You'll know you're consciously doing your body a favor.
Whether you believe it or not, moving your body toward an alkaline diet will be beneficial for you in the long run.
7. You'll try new restaurants.
Being vegan means you'll start to explore the culinary expertise of vegan chefs. Let your mind be blown by some of the vegan dishes at specialized restaurants.
By experimenting and exploring, you might just find being vegan gets easier and easier.
8. You'll feel like you've accomplished something.
If it's a temporary transition, committing to a vegan diet will feel like an accomplishment... even if it's just for a week.
It's setting goals of self-control and intentional consciousness that will make you feel quietly successful within yourself, even if it's just for a short period of time.
So, try it if your body is curious. I've never once regretted the decision.
