I’ve raved this past month over oxblood lipstick and how I’ll most likely cry when the weather turns and wearing a deep burgundy shade will be inappropriate for the weather. Let’s not talk about that day though, I’m dreading it.

Thankfully, It’s still oxblood/burgundy season, and what better way to incorporate this season’s favorite color than into your makeup? I’ve done a post on the perfect drugstore brand of a deep burgundy lipstick, but now let’s take the time to list five more high end lipstick shades you should try this winter:

NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Amsterdam ($25)

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in L’Impatiente ($32.50)

Paul & Joe Lipstick in $306, Avenue Montaigne ($20)

Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Berry Noir ($29.50)

Dior Addict Extreme in Black Tie ($30)

These colors are all beautiful and beautifully packaged, so what are you waiting for? Go out and buy one!

Why You Should Date A Girl Who Has Curly Hair

In kindergarten at a fancy private school, I received a compliment that would forever stay with me. “Laura, you can no longer wear your hair down in the classroom. That adds up to roughly 58 million people above the age of 18. As someone who is currently undergoing the lengthy process of diagnoses/medication/re-diagnosis/new medication/rinse, lather, repeat, I’d […]

Dumb Girl Learns The Hard Way Why You Don’t Tweet Terrorism Jokes To Airlines

A Twitter user’s “friend” pulled a pretty mean joke yesterday by going on her account and tweeting to American Airlines that she’s a member of al-Qaeda looking to stage an attack. “Hello my name’s Ibrahim and I’m from Afghanistan. I’m part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I’m gonna do something really big bye” […]

Are You Sure You’re Okay? Why We Lie About How We’re Doing

How are you? Everything good with you? We get asked these same questions multiple times a day, every day. How many times do you average a day? Five? Maybe 10 a day? What this means, I hope you realize, is that every person tells a minimum of five to 10 lies per day, because the […]

This Ping Pong Playing Cat Insists On Playing Every Point (Video)

Oh, look — it’s a cat ruining an activity that would otherwise be wholesome and enjoyable! What a surprise! Actually, I’m being unfair to Oreo. I can understand the allure of ping pong. I’d be lying if I said I’d never sat down next to table during a game to watch the ball go back […]

I recently Tumbled (yes, I’m a Tumblr fan) across a very interesting post about the “7 Cardinal Rules For Life” and couldn’t help falling in love with the idea of it. Included in the post were some very powerful and simple ideas on how to live. However, I felt that seven was just 38 too […]
