Broke But Beautiful: The Most Expensive Cities For Women's Haircuts

by Elite Daily Staff

It's no secret that living in New York City is significantly more expensive than most other cities. Chicago might have a high sales tax, but NYC is definitely up there when it comes to basic needs, like food and shelter.

And here's a new one to add to the list of overpriced items you can find in NYC: women's haircuts.

Apparently, vanity knows no price when it comes to styling hair.

The folks behind Square, a mobile device-based point of sale system, released findings that showed the average price for a woman's haircut in NYC is a whopping $73! (Click To Enlarge):

While that's only two dollars more than runner-up city, San Francisco, New Yorkers can hold on to one small shred of hope because the average price for a male's haircut in SF is noticeably greater than NYC's: $49 compared to the Big Apple's $37.

Hmm, perhaps Jennifer Lawrence was onto something with her pixie cut? How much is too much to spend on a haircut?
