Holiday Nail Colors For Your Skin Tone

Holiday Nail Colors For Your Skin Tone
Beauty

It’s common knowledge that when choosing makeup for yourself, you must choose colors that work well with your specific skin tone. So why should this rule be restricted to makeup?

It’s also necessary, when choosing a nail polish, to make sure it blends well with your skin tone on your hands. There are thousands of nail polish colors out there, and I’m sure as women we’ve tried close to every one, but only a select few true look good with our skin tone.

Because of this, I’ve set aside three nail polish shades for this holiday season that will look good for your particular skin tone, along with that one versatile color that will look good on everyone.

Every Skin Tone

Lippmann Collection Nail Lacquer in Wicked Game ($16): this nail polish works on every skin tone, which makes it a great versatile color. Not only is the silvery lavender color perfect for the holiday season, but also the iridescent quality makes the color change slightly to adapt to everyone’s skin tone.

Warm-Toned Skin

OPI Nail Lacquer in Shim-merry Chic ($8.50): this copper colored nail polish works wonders on warm-toned skin with yellow undertones

Cool-Toned Skin

Zoya UltraGlitter Nail Polish in Nova ($7): This blue-red, glitter nail polish is perfect for the holiday season.

How do you feel about these nail polishes?

Bikini Bodies: Why Feeling Good In Your Bathing Suit Is Half The Battle

I, like every other bagel-addicted woman, have a complicated relationship with summertime. Or more specifically, the parts in which we prance around practically naked with nowhere to hide. Those moments especially suck. But what’s even more anxiety-provoking than the actual swimsuit part is the slow build up to bikini season. The few months leading up […]

The Differences Between The Unedited And Photoshopped Lady Gaga Versace Photos Are Unbelievable

Jezebel continues to take the cake as expert Photoshop spotters, and we continue to be preoccupied with already-skinny stars having themselves virtually nipped and tucked. The site just posted four untouched photos of Lady Gaga posing for Versace’s Spring 2014 campaign, and has dissected every point where the original photos differ from the final, publicized […]

Cam’ron Proves He’s Still Got It By Demolishing Nick Cannon On Instagram

As a platform, Instagram typically gets filed under “hipster app.” This may or may not be accurate, but one thing is certain: The latest back and forth between Cam’ron and Nick Cannon is so thoroughly steeped in sarcasm and even-keeled snark that you’d think it was a pair of Brooklynites arguing about the most important […]

There’s Nothing More Exciting Than The Great Northern Jerk-Off (Photo)

A small town in Wisconsin celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Great Northern Jerk-Off last month in a story that wouldn’t be particularly noteworthy if not for the fact that the name of the event is also a euphemism for the act of masturbation. Blogger Jim Romonesko spotted this headline in the Vilas County News-Review […]
