Does Your Lipstick Contain Lead?

That's right. Lead. As a devout lipstick wearer, this next study has me cringing. A new study conducted by Underwriters Laboratories has found that 55 percent of lipsticks contain trace amounts of lead.

Thankfully, beauty companies are not intentionally trying to poison us. Apparently, scientists say that the additives that go into makeup are mineral-based, which contains natural trace amounts of lead.

If you're worried that your favorite lipstick brand may contain lead, look up the ingredients on EWG'S Skin Deep Cosmetics Database and find out for yourself.
