Lorde Shows All Girls It's Okay To Have Flaws By Tweeting An Unedited Photo Of Herself

by Katie Gonzalez

Lena Dunham might have stayed out of the Photoshop debate when it came to her controversial Vogue cover, but Lorde willingly took a stance on a recently Photoshopped photo of herself via Twitter.

The 17-year-old singer (wise beyond her years, we say) posted two pictures of herself at a Sunday performance.

One featured a flawless face, with her signature dark lip. The below photo revealed the real Lorde, who is dealing with some skin and acne issues just like the rest of us.

Lorde paired the two photos with the below message for her 1.32 million followers to see:

i find this curious - two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok pic.twitter.com/PuRhxt2u2O — Lorde (@lordemusic) March 31, 2014

Lorde is no stranger to real talk and speaking her mind. She's easily identified as a feminist, and hasn't been afraid to criticize certain celebrities (like Lana del Ray and Selena Gomez) who leave young women with less-than-inspirational messages about relationships and a woman's worth to the guys in her life.

It's great to see that Lorde isn't all talk and no walk. Instead of simply preaching some idea of female confidence and healthy body images, she also exposes her own flaws —showing that it's perfectly normal not to be perfect.
