Michael Kors To Launch Cosmetics Collection

Michael Kors is the new coach. Every female (except for myself, actually) can be seen walking down the street with the Michael Kors Hamilton bag, or something from his eponymous collection.

His empire has grown so much so, that the designer has opted to expand even further. Kors is steaming on into the beauty realm, and releasing a brand new collection of color cosmetics, body and sun care, and three new fragrances, set to launch in August.

According to WWD, there are going to be three distinct lines in his beauty collection: Sporty, Sexy, and Glam. Michael Kors is known for keeping those three descriptions as apart of his aesthetic, so this should be no big deal for the fashion giant.

Kors looked to some of the most important women in his life for inspiration for his beauty collections: “My grandmother was over-the-top glam –she worshipped at he altar of Elizabeth Taylor,” Kors said. “And I then has the absolute opposite in my mother, who wore very natural makeup, very little print, was very laid-back and relaxed and sporty.”

Makes sense. The collection will be sold at all Michael Kors stores, and at Macy’s exclusively for one year with prices ranging from $18 for a nail polish to $95 for a fragrance.

Each collection features a fragrance, two lipstick colors, two lip-gloss colors, and two nail polishes in colors that represent each collection’s vibe. The sporty collection will feature nudey-taupes and dark violets in the Glam collection.
