Who Actually Names OPI Polishes?

OPI is one of America’s most commonly used nail polish brands. Not only is the formula of their product rich and opaque, but also their colors are bright, fun and always feature a perfectly punny name.

So, who actually gets the honor of naming these unique polishes? Is it a creative team? What about the person who mixes the colors to begin with? Well, a little of both.

Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, the co-founder of OPI and artistic director of the company, is the brains of the operation. Her process is fairly simple. Suzi first creates all of the shades. Then, she sits down in a boardroom with six others to get some creative inspiration.

The color inspiration for each polish collection usually comes from fashion trends from Paris and Milan fashion weeks, and themes of collections run alongside what’s current in pop culture.

Seems simple enough, no?
