We all make skincare mistakes. Whether it's forgetting to cleanse our skin or sleeping with our make up on, most of the time we forget to treat our skin with the care and effort we should, which stops our skin from looking its best.
Lets admit it – it's easy to skip these skincare steps; but how much are we really damaging our skin by skipping said steps? There are a few easy rules we should follow to maintain smooth, firm and fresh looking skin.
Do: Drink plenty of water.
You have probably heard it hundreds of times before, but its true. Water is an essential for healthy looking skin as it flushes out toxins and keeps the complexion hydrated. Drinking eight glasses a day is vital for fresh looking skin.
Do: Use a nighttime face lotion.
Applying a serum or lotion at night will let the skin repair and allow the moisture to soak in and heal the skin. Applying lotion at night can improve the healthy and beauty of your skin.
Don’t: Use harsh scrubs on your skin.
Avoid scrubs that are too harsh for your skin. Exfoliating once or twice a week is good, but over-doing it will irritate your skin and cause you to break out.
Do: Wash your skin at night.
Don't slip into the habit of getting into bed without washing your face. Make up can clog your pores and cause breakouts; something we all want to avoid.
Don’t: drink too much coffee.
While a cup a day— minus whipped cream, extra sugar etc, sugar may be beneficial; too much coffee can be dehydrating.
Keeping to these skincare steps will work wonders for the skin. Although its simple, its every girls secret to effortless skin.
