Louboutin's Holiday Nail Polish Costs More Than Some Of His Shoes

Luxury shoe designer and footwear pioneer, Christian Louboutin, excited glamour lovers everywhere with the release of his first nail polish at $50 a pop.

While $50 for nail polish seems a bit extreme, it's actually reasonable considering the novelty of the lacquer, coming in the same coveted red as his signature soles.

Well, $50 is going to seem like pocket change when you hear what the designer's newest nail polish costs: a whopping $675.

We know -- it stung to even write a number that large, trust us.

While this is clearly extreme, it seems to us that the classically rouge polish is more of a collector's item and not just paint inside an expensive bottle.

Aptly named Starlight, the nail polish's severely pointed bottle comes hand-encrusted with 1,500 Strass crystals.

It's displayed in an elegant black, lacquer box, adorned with flowers, seemingly inspired by the brand's Fall/Winter Pensamoi shoe.

While this nail polish actually costs more than several pairs of actual Christian Louboutin shoes — and is probably miles beyond any Millennial girl's price point -- this limited edition holiday varnish sure is pretty to look at.

Just do mom and dad a favor and keep it off your Christmas list, OK?
