Five Fall Decorating Ideas
Growing up my mom was a very, very festive decorator. You could always tell what season or holiday was around the corner the second you walked into my living room and immersed yourself into a seasonal wonderland.
This is a childhood memory that I hold very dear, and I have to admit that her excessive decorating was passed onto me. Now, with websites like Pinterest (the greatest invention since sliced bread) my decorating inspiration has only been intensified. After perusing multiple decorating blogs, here are five cute and simple ways to decorate your home for fall:
Fill A Non-Working Fireplace With Pumpkins
I mean the fireplace in my house would work if we ever lit a fire, but we don’t. So why not give it some use and fill it will various sized pumpkins?
Glitter Branches
The second I saw this I knew I had to try it. Collect various branches from outside (or buy them if you’re not very outdoorsy) and spray them with spray on glitter (available at any craft store). Place in a tall glass vase and use as a centerpiece.
Spray Paint Pine Cones
I used to do this when I was younger. Collect (or buy) pinecones and spray paint them with your favorite matte fall colors for a table decoration.
Fill Empty Vases With Fall Details
My mother has done this for years. It’s a great simple idea for any holiday. Take a clear glass vase and fill the bottom of it with whatever seasonal item of your choosing. For fall it’d be best to fill the bottom of a vase with leaves, acorns, or mini pumpkins.
Fall Mantle
The mantle is always the go to decorating space in my house. Place pumpkins, gourds, leaves, whatever you’d like along your mantle amongst your picture frames or whatever you use to normally decorate your mantle.
