Fashion Inspired By: Betty Draper

I’ve spent a lot of time recently missing one of my favorite television shows, Mad Men. I first began watching the show a few season after it had originally aired and I was immediately addicted.

If you’re looking for an excellent dramatic television show to get into, Mad Men should be your first option. I won’t go into too much detail as to why I love the television show, because after all, this is a fashion post. I’ll mainly stick to the clothing. Mad Men is set in the 1960’s, a time period that I personally feel I should have been born in.

Everyone dresses impeccably from the second they wake up until the second they fall asleep, and everyone’s ensembles always look sophisticated and put together. One of the main characters, Betty Draper, is my inspiration for this week’s post. Her character is a housewife from a well-to-do family, so her clothing has an extra air of importance than any one else on the show.

Betty is a classic beauty who is almost never seen without a full-skirted dress, a red lip and a glass of wine in hand. Don’t we all wish we could dress like this everyday? Or is that just me? Whatever.

Would you dress like Betty Draper?
