Splurge vs. Save: Printed Cable Knit Sweater

By now I’m sure you’re all familiar with the subzero temperatures we’re all experiencing in New York City, and by now, I’m sure you’ve spent enough time crying over it.

This morning, when getting dressed, I was consumed with dressing warmly, while still staying chic and well dressed. The solution? Printed cable knit sweaters.

Splurge

This Michael by Michael Kors Metallic Paneled Chunky Knit Sweater would be the perfect layering piece to go over a button down, or under a blazer, during this frigid weather. ($295, net-a-porter.com)

Save

In an almost identical dupe, this Silence & Noise Deep-V Tunic sweater ($59, urbanoutfitters.com) would be the perfect addition to your cold weather wardrobe.

Would you wear a printed cable knit sweater?

The Best Dressed Ladies At The 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Music award shows typically do not have the most well dressed attendees. I guess it has something to do with the quirkiness and creativity of musicians and musicians’ red-carpet looks (in Billboard’s case, a blue carpet) are always eclectic, to say the least. Throw in the fact that the Billboard Music Awards are not the [...]

Nicole Kidman’s Latest Campaign

Countless brands have undergone serious adjustments this past year. Creative Directors were hired and fired left and right in 2012, so 2013 is bound to be a year full of new and exciting campaigns and design ideas. One such campaign is that of Jimmy Choo, who has just tapped Nicole Kidman to front their Fall [...]

Peter Som x Anthropologie

It’s been a whopping three days since the news of a high/low designer collaboration has been broken, so of course, we’re way behind on hearing of a new one. Although the news of Anthropologie’s Made in Kind initiative is not new, their latest installment certainly is. Anthropologie’s latest, and perhaps biggest, collaboration has just been [...]

A Model Covering US Vogue Is A Rare Occurrence Today

Years ago, models were everything. They fronted every major campaign, walked down every runway, and were considered to be celebrities as much as Hollywood’s biggest blockbuster’s leading lady. Today, when people think of a model, they think of Karlie Kloss. Ultra thin, ultra tall and primarily working the runways and editorial spreads in Vogue magazine. [...]

Questionable Product Names: The ‘Fatkini’

By no means am I always politically correct. Sometimes I say things that others would think are insensitive, but don’t get me wrong — certain questionable statements definitely get me to raise my eyebrows. Something that always makes me cringe is the use of the word “fat.” Being someone who has struggled with weight and [...]

J.Crew x CFDA

Designer to designer collaborations are one thing. You have two separate visions coming together to create a joint design. When a retailer collaborates with the CFDA, though, it’s a whole other ball game. The CFDA essentially represents almost every major designer in American fashion. How does one collaborate with a multitude of design visions? J.Crew [...]

Twitter’s Tug Of War Over Instagram With Facebook

It’s been almost a year since Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion, a painful memory Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey hates to revisit. Twitter was looking to purchase Instagram, as well, but couldn’t offer up the same kind of money as could the almighty king Zuckerberg. In April of 2012, many investors and tech companies were [...]

Mariah Carey Decides To Drop Randy Jackson As Her Manager

Mariah Carey has been managed by her fellow “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson since 2011, who was essential in brokering her record-setting $18 million deal to join him at the “Idol” judges’ table this year. But apparently, that’s not enough to keep Mariah happy, and he is no longer her manager. The pop diva, who [...]

Michael Jackson Is Still Getting Sued After Death

This is just pathetic. Michael Jackson has been accused of molesting a now-famous choreographer who spent lots of time with the singer at the Neverland Ranch… even though he has been dead for almost four years now. Wade Robson recently filed legal docs in which he asks for money from the Michael Jackson Estate for [...]
