I’m a sucker for texture, especially so during the cold weather months. One of my favorite fall/winter textured fabrics? Corduroy.

Corduroy does of course remind me of a prep school six year old, but it can be incorporated so perfectly into an adult’s wardrobe, that we should all be excited by the recent surge in the corduroy dress trend.

Not just corduroy dresses, but corduroy skirts. These staples have been seen everywhere in various different colors and styles and I have to admit, I can’t get enough of it.

Why The Hippie Image Of Free People Is An Unattainable Illusion

Pseudo-hippies everywhere will probably nail me to their Pinterest hit lists, but I don’t care. I will no longer stand for the injustice that is overpriced napkins and mass-produced flower children. Republican State Rep Says Women Sound Like ‘Whiners’ When Asking For Equal Pay

Who knew that wanting equal rights could make you so… whiney? Demanding the little things, like fair pay and reasonable family leave, might seem sensical to you and me, but according to Minnesota state Rep. Andrea Kieffer (a member of the GOP, who’s surprised?), women are “whiners” for wanting these things protected by law. Kieffer […]

“The Simpsons” have been popping up lately in a bunch of parodies and now there’s one more to add to the list. The animated sitcom parodied the British period drama, “Downton Abbey.” Lisa is shown watching one of her favorite shows the “Itchy & Scratchy Show,” but this time the characters find themselves in “Downton Tabby.” […]

8 Unexpected Pleasures From Being Disconnected From The Digital World

Let me begin by shamelessly boasting that I recently trekked to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa. It was probably the coolest thing I have ever done but during the five days of the climb, I was without cell phone service, Wifi or even electrical outlets. You can likely imagine the […]

Believe It Or Not, Pre-16th Century Art Predicted Hip Hop (Photos)

Rap is an art form that doesn’t get the respect it deserves. As the revolutionary RZA recently proclaimed, Wu-Tang’s one of one album is as rare as the Mona Lisa (perhaps even rarer, in its pursuit of truth and musical equality). Tumblr is a digital world of possibilities. There are wild yahoos, and then there’s […]
