Jason Wu Expands His Resume

Could Jason Wu be considered one of the busiest designers in fashion? On top of designing his own collections and working with a slew of collaborations, the designer has just been appointed Artistic Director of BOSS, womenswear by Hugo Boss.

Effective June 15th, Wu will work in Germany with the design team of this newly established function within the Boss Group, as well as open a design studio in New York. Pre-fall 2014 will give fashionistas a first look at BOSS womenswear from Wu’s amazing perspective. A New York Fashion Week runway show will follow in February for fall/winter 2014.

“With the state-of-the-art facilities that are unique to the Hugo Boss design labs, I plan to develop a strong, feminine womenswear collection that reciprocates the brand’s authority in menswear,” Wu stated via press release.

He’ll continue to develop his eponymous ready-to-wear and accessories lines, as usual. Normally, I would think that working with multiple brands would be overwhelming, but I know that Wu is capable. Is there anything stopping this young and ambitious designer? I don’t think so.

My predictions? The coming year will bring multiple accolades and collaborations for Wu and his design team. The sky is certainly the limit.
