Powerful Poetry Slam Gives Women Real Sex Tips To Take Their Bodies Back (Video)

by Gillian Fuller

Feminism seems to be on everyone’s minds lately, and for good reason. As progressive as we are socially, women and men still aren’t treated equally, especially when it comes to sex. This needs to change.

Button Poetry posted this YouTube video of Desireé Dallagiacomo and Kaycee Filson performing an original poem called “Real Sex Tips," in which they advocate increased sexual freedom and rights for women. The point, in the end, is to communicate to women that we need to “take our bodies back.”

Watch the pair performing the poem at the 2014 National Poetry Slam in Oakland, California. Some lines they speak separately, while some, they shout together. The effect is powerful enough to give you chills.

The audience absolutely erupts in applause when they finish their poem. This is a well-composed, moving and incredibly strong piece with an important message.

Be sure to pass this video along to all of the women in your life — it’s truly a one-of-a-kind piece that needs to be shared among as many people as possible.
