Those ‘Ugly' Birkenstocks And Teva Sandals Are Becoming Cool Again

I'm a big fan of retro fashion revivals.

While some throwback trends are pretty awesome, others make you question how certain looks became popular the first time around, let alone a second.

The nostalgia of the 90s has definitely returned to the runway, and some decades-old footwear is now making its way into the good graces of fashion once again.

Remember those Birkenstocks and Tevas that used to be stylish, but were considered by many to be seriously fugly?

Well, apparently it's been so long that everyone must have forgotten what these things actually look like, and now they're making a comeback.

Look at the bright side… They're not as bad as Crocs.

Personally, you won't find me jumping on the Birkenstock bandwagon anytime soon, but I'll admit some people have actually found a way to make them look fashionable, and for that, they deserve some serious style recognition.

Take a look at the pictures below to see this old-school sandal craze.

If you thought the fashion fads of the 90s were long gone…

You clearly haven't seen the latest retro trends.

Tevas have recently returned to the runway…

So, I guess that means these sandals are cool again.

But, that's not all…

Birkenstocks are also back in.

And now, lots of ladies are locking down their looks with a pair of old-school sandals.

Tevas and Birkenstocks are the a top footwear fad among fashionable adventurers.

They merge style with function…

They come in all kinds of colors…

And they make the perfect shoes for every type of expedition.

If you're trying to get in on this trend…

You can't go wrong with some beach-ready Birks…

A pair of tribal Tevas…

Or some stripes and Birkenstocks.
