Victoria Beckham Revealed How She Eats Her Way To Flawless, Smooth Skin
Perfect skin starts with what's on your plate. And when you're a star, there's no other choice than to have perfect skin.
Seriously, I think they make you sign a contract or something. It's all very hush-hush, nudge-nudge.
In a recent interview with Net-A-Porter's The Edit, the fashion designer formerly known as Posh Spice gives the low-down on how she keeps her face clear in the midst of running a business and parenting four children.
The secret, according to Beckham, is salmon. For years, Beckham's followed the likes of Kim Kardashian in visiting the office of dermatologist Dr. Harold Lancer. He's known to advise extremely healthy diets focused primarily in fishy meals.
Beckham explained,
I used to have really problematic skin and he said to me, 'You have to eat salmon every single day.' I said, 'Really, every day?' And he said, 'Yes; breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.
I can barely stand eating the same thing two days in a row. What are the odds Beckham has just started grinding it up into a fish smoothie so she'll have to taste it less?
Still, the fatty fish is rich in the omega-3s needed for healthy skin. It's possible Beckham previously had some kind of deficit.
When she's not slurping down another aquatic meal, Beckham also recommends plenty of beauty sleep as her ultimate anti-aging trick.
Beckham's sworn by Lancer's skincare guidance for years, now. Under his tutelage, she's begun exfoliating before washing her face and using simple products every day.
Like any other mom, however, Beckham admittedly struggles with getting to bed on time. In 2013, she told Harper's Bazaar bedtime is between 12 pm and 1 am, which makes her 6 am wake-up time seem even worse.
Beckham explained,
I like to get as much sleep as I can. But when you're a mummy, you kind of—well, it would be nice.
If you haven't yet given birth to tiny, sleep-ruining devils, here's the trick: Get as much sleep as possible until you do.
Oh, and don't skip the fish course.
