Fashion week happens twice a year in New York City, and for those interested in the industry, these two weeks are the most anticipated weeks of the entire year.

But is showing at Fashion Week not cool anymore or something? Multiple designers have announced that they plan to forgo the traditional runway shows, and instead, are opting for digital fashion shows.

Does this benefit the designers business? Or are they simply making a statement? Peter Som shocked everyone when he announced he planned to cancel his runway show, but then redeemed himself by announcing a KCD digital fashion show. Is this the newest trend?

Is this even okay? I mean, it’s fashion week, it happens twice a year, do it big. Well, apparently, doing it big includes the Internet now. Digital fashion shows mean more money for store orders, more eyes will be on you (due to your shocking show cancellation) and a focus on the customers, which are, after all, the most important.

What do you think about this recent trend?
