After a two-year hiatus, Bachelor in Paradise is back and fans couldn’t be more thrilled. But with new TV comes fresh new drama. Here’s what you missed in Bachelor Nation news the week of August 16, both on-screen and off.
Paradise fans weren’t all digging David Spade as host. Following Chris Harrison’s exit after 20 years of hosting the franchise, ABC hired Spade (in addition to Lance Bass, Tituss Burgess, and Lil Jon later this season) to ring in Season 7, and Bach Nation was torn.
Abigail Heringer and Noah Erb are already fan favorites. Abigail got the season’s first date card, and she asked Noah to join her for some one-on-one time. Noah told Abigail she has a “heart of gold,” and they closed their date with a romantic kiss.
Tahzjuan Hawkins revealed she went on a date (and smooched!) with Tre Cooper’s Uncle Anthony, who she met on a dating app before filming. But she really hit it off with Tre himself on Paradise, and they shared a steamy kiss. (And ICYMI, this is what Uncle Anthony looks like.)
Demi Burnett is back on Paradise after making history as part of the show’s first LGBTQ+ couple. She and ex Kristian Haggerty split in October 2019. Demi went on to date Slater Davis, but ended that relationship in summer 2020. Now she’s back and looking for love.
On the Aug. 20 episode of the Reality Life With Kate Casey podcast, Blake Horstmann revealed he and Becca Kufrin were chatting “here and there” and were “back in touch within the last, like, six months.” Depending on how Paradise plays out, he said he’d be “willing to talk.”
Elsewhere in Bachelor Nation, during the Aug. 17 episode of the Tea With Publyssity podcast, Peter Weber said he’s “moved on” from the drama between himself and Kelley Flanagan. “There’s two sides to every story,” he said. “I said my piece, and I have no desire to further that.”
Following his reported breakup from model Camila Kendra, Tyler Cameron posted a cryptic tweet on Aug. 17 saying, “The things people say and do to save face is quite comical.” He also posted the tweet on his Instagram Story. Shady.
Nick Viall exclusively told Elite Daily his favorite thing about girlfriend Natalie Joy: “She’s all about positive energy. She’s very present and focused on brightening people’s days.” Awww.
