Ever since they got together in the early 2000s, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s body language has been giving fans heart-eyes. As body language expert Traci Brown told Elite Daily, they’re almost “always in-step,” which “speaks to a relationship that’s really tight.”

Though the two rarely show PDA, the Cambridges express affection for each other in other ways. According to Brown, there is “parallelism in their body language that shows a true connection,” even without them touching.

As well as conveying intimacy, Kate and Will’s body language often shows off a united front, especially since they’re often “either looking at the same thing or looking at each other,” as Brown pointed out.

A change occurred in March 2019, after reports emerged claiming Will had an affair with Kate’s former friend, Rose Hanbury. At the Royal Ascot in June and Archie’s christening in July, Brown said Kate and Will were “showing signs of stress,” and “unusually stiff.”

Even by December 2019, the usually in-sync couple still seemed a bit off. While visiting church on Christmas Day, Brown said Will looked “concerned” and Kate’s face was “showing some anger,” but at least they were “together in their emotions.”

However, after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals in January 2020, Kate and Will appeared united in their body language once again. At their first formal engagement following the announcement, Brown said they looked like “a tight unit.

The royal couple even showed off some very rare PDA when they visited Ireland in March 2020. “Great couples match each other's movements and walk in step,” Brown said of their body language during the visit. “And that's what we're seeing from them.”

When Harry and Meghan’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey aired a year later in March 2021, Kate and Will once again presented a united front when they revisited their old wedding venue. “They’re matching each other’s body language almost perfectly,” Brown said at the time.

Despite the awkwardness of 2019 following the affair rumors, Will and Kate seem more united in their body language now than ever. As Brown said of the pair, “William and Kate are looking like they’re the together, solid unit that we’re used to seeing.” And I love to see it!
