These days, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are practically super-glued to one another’s side. But their body language wasn’t always so hot and heavy.

In the early days of their relationship, the two were not only much more guarded, they were also much less in sync...

While leaving Nobu in Malibu on March 19, 2021, the two were much less connected than they are today. As Traci Brown, body language expert and author of Persuasion Point: Body Language and Speech for Influence, told Elite Daily, “They’re not in step. No part of their body language is matching.”

At the UFC 260 event on March 27, Kravis got a bit closer, though both Kardashian and Barker still appeared to have their guard up.

There are definitely feelings for her,” body language expert Yana German told Elite Daily, looking at Barker. “Yet he's a little bit closed [off to her] while he's reaching out...”

Things heated up in August when Kardashian posted a saucy photo of the two making out on a yacht in Italy. While the pic was undoubtedly posed, it also hinted at Kravis’ dynamic at the time. “She looks like she’s in control of the situation,” Brown said. “See how’s he kind of backed up there? He doesn’t really have anywhere to go.”

In a much more candid shot from Venice on Aug. 29, it was clear that Kardashian and Barker had gotten far closer.

“They’re both holding [hands] with the same energy,” Patti Wood, body language expert and author of SNAP: Making the Most of First Impressions, Body Language, and Charisma, told Elite Daily. “It’s just nice and balanced.”

At the VMAs on Sept. 12, Kardashian and Barker made their red carpet debut. And they, uh, didn’t hold back on the PDA. “He’s grabbing her really tight… but she’s having a great time and their bodies are kind of squished together,” Brown shared. “They're pressed together and she's for sure leaning in towards him.”

On Oct. 17, Barker asked Kardashian to marry him. She (of course!) said yes. And their body language during and after the proposal was incredibly intimate.

“The way he is gazing down on her is very, very, very seductive,” Wood told Elite Daily. “The location of his hands, that intimate curve around her waist and down to her rear, that's very, very sexual...”

Kardashian and Barker also suggested that they’ve got a softer side the night they got engaged. In a video shared by Kim Kardashian, the two enjoyed a couple of kisses while wrapped in each other’s arms.

“She comes away, she smiles in, she goes back again,” Wood said. “She just wants more of him, which is very nice.”

Collectively, there’s no question that Kardashian and Barker’s body language shows that they are very much in love. The two have gotten progressively closer, cozier, and more in sync over time.

We can’t wait to see how their relationship — and their body language — continues to evolve.
