‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Just Got A New Release Date And It’s Earlier Than The Original
It's time to get back to the Upside Down! Stranger Things just dropped the premiere date for its second season, and its coming sooner than we thought.
The show's official Twitter account posted a short clip of Mike, Lucas, Will, and Dustin riding their bikes into their town of Hawkins, Indiana, underneath an eerie red, stormy sky. At the end of the clip, we learn that Season 2 is coming on October 27, a couple days earlier than the Halloween premiere that fans were expecting!
Check out the first Season 2 clip below.
This is great news for fans of the hit Netflix sci-fi series. Initially, it was being reported Season 2 would drop on Halloween, but now we can binge the new season before the holiday and maybe get some new Stranger Things-inspired costumes ready.
The one downside of the new clip: The gang really isn't all back together again. Though Will Byers is finally back biking with his boys, it looks like Eleven is still missing. Of course, last season ended with Eleven vanishing with the Demogorgon into the Upside Down, and sadly it appears she's still gone.
Not much is known about what writers/directors the Duffer Brothers have planned for Season 2, but we do have some details. Millie Bobby Brown revealed the new season is darker than the first, and we know that after sitting out most of last season, Will Byers will become a central character in this run of episodes.
Netflix also revealed all nine of the episode titles from the new season, which has caused tons of theorizing among fans.
But with all the unexpected and unpredictable twists and turns this show took in Season 1, it's probably best to just wait and see what's going to happen rather than try to theorize. Just three and a half more months to go!
