Amber Heard Files For Divorce From Johnny Depp Days After His Mother Dies
Amber Heard has filed for divorce from Johnny Depp, according to a report from TMZ.
The news of a Hollywood marriage failing after just one year may not be that shocking, however, the news comes just three days after Depp's mother died.
TMZ additionally reports Heard filed a divorce petition on Monday citing irreconcilable differences. She is asking Depp for spousal support. According to TMZ, the couple did not have a prenup.
Heard, 30, met Depp, 52, on the set of 2011's "The Rum Diary." The pair then began dating in 2012, at the end of Depp's decade-long relationship with Vanessa Paradis.
The relationship was not without its public drama. In 2015, the duo attempted to smuggle their pet Yorkshire Terriers into Australia, where Depp was filming the latest installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean." In April of this year, Australian Magistrate Margaret Callaghan gave Heard a one-month $1,000 good behavior bond after the two released this cringe-worthy "apology" video.
Depp's latest film, "Alice Through the Looking Glass," is set to release later this week. Hopefully, that will brighten his mood.
