Caution: Don't read this post if you're not prepared for a few "American Horror Story" spoilers.

OK, so here's the deal: If you haven't been watching "American Horror Story" since the first season, this theory might not make a lot of sense to you.

But for those of you who have been with it from day one, think back to the very first episode of the "Murder House" days.

The sharp eyes over at Hello Giggles noticed something about that pilot episode — the opening shot is nearly identical to the opening shot of the new season.

Here are the first two shots of Season 1, Episode 1.

SEE WHAT WE'RE SAYING? SHOT OF A TREE FOLLOWED BY A SHOT OF A HOUSE?

OK, so clearly this must mean something, but it's still up in the air.

Obviously, there are already a lot of similarities between "Murder House" and "Roanoke," like the fact they are both about terrifying, nightmare houses.

And if you think back to the 11th episode of "Murder House," you might also recall that Roanoke is actually mentioned when Tate and Violet learn Roanoke was where the first successful exorcism was performed.

Not only that, but Ryan Murphy has said before that he eventually wants to weave all the different seasons together.

So, we're definitely feeling a "Murder House" tie-in to this new season.

Personally, I have my money on the return of Tate Langdon. Evan Peters was nowhere to be found in the pilot, and we're still not sure what time period season 6 is in. This could be an opportunity for a Tate prequel.

Plus, you know, the ladies love that mass murderer.

Of course, we're only one episode in, so there's a lot of directions this "Murder House" connection could go.

I guess we'll have to keep watching to find out.
