In the first season of Bridgerton, Benedict’s pursuit of sexual liberation and flirtation with Sir Henry Granville led many fans to assume he may be gay or bisexual. But Season 2 seemed to dash those prospects as Benedict started seeing another woman.

Viewers who were hoping for a gay storyline were left wanting in Season 2.

The choice felt confusing after Benedict’s apparent sexual awakening in Season 1.

Although Bridgerton seemed to tease am LGBTQ+ storyline for Benedict, fans are starting to lose hope.

Some viewers are still holding out hope Season 3 will finally deliver.

While other fans are just plain mad.

People are just really disappointed with where the character went this season.

While Benedict *does* marry a woman in the Bridgerton books, fans think the show should have rewritten his character.

Honestly, a rewrite could definitely help spice up Benedict’s story... and Eloise’s as well.

Many viewers are tired of only seeing straight relationships on the show.

Some are even accusing Bridgerton of queerbaiting, both in terms of Benedict and Eloise.

All in all, Bridgerton fans were not here for the “deyassified” version of Benedict in Season 2.
