A Britney And Christina Duet May Be On The Way And We're So Pumped

Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera may be recording music together, which is a sentence I only thought I'd type if I ever got my time machine to work.

But here I am in 2016, telling you both pop princesses are listed as performers on a music licensing website for Britney's 2016 song "Do You Wanna Come Over?"

This was discovered by a sharp-eyed Twitter user, who shared a screenshot of the listing on Tuesday.

A quick look at the website, the Australasian Performing Right Association (ARPA), confirms yes, this is a real copyright.

But the question is, does it actually mean a Britney and Christina collab is coming?

Well, "Do You Wanna Come Over?" is a song off Britney's 2016 album, Glory, so it's definitely not a new song.

But Christina's also definitely not on that original track.

So, maybe it's a remix?

Or maybe Christina is sampling the track?

While Britney's been busy with her comeback album, it's been a minute since we've heard from the other '90s pop princess.

Over the summer, Christina released a single, "Change," to honor the victims of the Orlando shooting at Pulse nightclub.

But the 35-year-old singer hasn't dropped a new album in over four years, since Lotus in 2012.

Despite the constant comparison between the two artists throughout their music careers, the world has yet to hear a Christina and Britney collab song.

Although, we did get that 2003 MTV Video Music Awards performance with both of them. Madonna was there, too. There may have been kissing involved. You remember.

So, could this finally be the collab the world has been waiting for all this time?

We can only hope.

In the meantime, let's tide ourselves over by re-watching Christina Aguilera's flawless Britney impression on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

It really just never gets old. What a legend.
