Carrie Underwood's Diet Plan Includes Burritos So Sign Us Up
Carrie Underwood, who is arguably one of the most beautiful humans ever, says she eats burritos on the regular.
So... what you're saying is... if I just eat burritos all the time, I'll have the exact same body as Carrie Underwood?!
That is definitely how physics, health and fitness work, right?
Anyway, even if that were true, don't get too excited about your new Carrie Underwood burrito diet — she's still a vegan. Meaning, no cheese on that burrito. Is that really the way you want to live your life?
As it turns out, Carrie also does a lot of other stuff to eat healthy and stay in shape in addition to eating vegan burritos.
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the 33-year-old singer walked through her typical day of eating and fitness -- though, as she says, she has "no typical day."
First, Carrie wakes up and makes breakfast for her 2-year-old son, Isaiah.
Here's the range of foods on Carrie's breakfast menu:
- Fruit
- Oatmeal
- Kashi cereal (with no milk)
- A tofu scramble with onions and peppers
- Yes, breakfast burritos
Carrie said,
I also stock up on frozen breakfast burritos just in case I'm making something for Isaiah and run out of steam before I can make something for myself. I like the ones from Amy's, and I recently tried a new vegan chorizo one I liked. I never eat meat and try to eat totally vegan, which is easiest when I cook for myself.
So if you were imagining Carrie wolfing down Chipotle at 2 am after a night of drinking, sorry, that's just you.
Amy's is a more sensible choice, and yes, it is vegan.
So if you want a real diet tip from Carrie that doesn't involve gross vegan burritos, here's one: Write shit down.
Carrie said,
I've kept a food journal forever, since I'm a bottomless pit, and I can out-eat everyone I know — it's like there's no sensor between my stomach and brain that says, 'Hey, you're full, stop eating!' Once I recognized that about myself, I started tracking my diet, which helps me make better choices and pay attention to what I'm eating.
Oh, and exercising doesn't hurt either.
Carrie has a gym at home, and is usually in it for at least an hour pretty much every day.
Her workout advice is to try to keep it interesting, which she does by leaving her workout routine up to chance.
She said,
I'll often use a deck of playing cards to make my workouts feel more fun, because I really like to mix things up and get bored easily. I'll assign one exercise to each suit, including one upper body move (like push-ups or pull-ups), one lower body move (like weighted squats), one abs move (often using an abs wheel) and one cardio move (like jumping rope). Then I pick one card at a time and do as many reps are listed on each card until I get through half the deck.
As for lunch and dinner, Carrie goes for Tofurky sandwiches and then something with lots of protein for dinner (like tofu, beans or a veggie burger).
So there ya have it, folks!
To look like Carrie Underwood you need to 1) make your workouts fun, 2) write down what you eat and 3) sometimes eat frozen vegan burritos.
And maybe you need just a smidgen of excellent genes.
