Emma Stone Declines 'La La Land' Promposal In Most Gentle Emma Stone Way

If you could have a chance to go back to a prom after a wildly successful career that you have won acclaim for, would you?

Emma Stone wouldn't, because she's a sane person. Honestly, prom as an adult is probably really lame -- you can't even drink? How did I ever find school dances enjoyable?

Jacob Staudenmaier filmed an elaborate reenactment of "La La Land" in hopes of asking the actress to Arcadia High School's prom in Arizona.

Two strikes against him, proms aren't fun and it's in Arizona.

Emma Stone is a kind, gentle heart and she let the teen down gently.

In fact, it's a lot nicer than any rejection I have ever received.

She wrote to Jacob,

JACOB, thanks for making the greatest proposal I've ever received. I can't tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video. So while we realize that Emma is a wonderful person who cares about her fans, poor Jacob is still without a prom date.

Jacob explained,

It was one of my favorite films and I've always liked Emma Stone as an actor and I guess that spawned the idea of maybe asking her to the prom.

Well, Jacob, if you love Emma Stone then you're gonna love me.

Sure, I'm not talented and yeah, I don't have red hair or an ounce of her beauty, but what I do have is an open calendar and I'm free to be your prom date.

All I ask is that you fly me out, buy my dress, pay for my hair and makeup to be done, don't get angry when I spike the punch. You know, the usual.
