Katy Perry's Met Gala Headpiece Has A Hidden Message

Katy Perry is stunning the red carpet for the 2017 Met Gala.

From the looks of it, the singer's red veil says "witness" in a string of mixed material. Perry is wearing John Galliano and clearly making a statement, as the host of such a lavish event should.

What exactly are we all "witnessing"? Well, it actually has nothing to do with fashion.

As a quick Google will reveal, "witness" is not connected to any of Galliano's designs, or anything by Rei Kawakubo, the designer being honored with the 2017 Met Gala theme.

However, Katy Perry fans have been speculating for weeks that "Witness" would be the name of her next album, and this veil is only fueling that fire.

Of course, just wearing the word on a veil doesn't mean that Katy is actually bringing her fans' theories to life. Luckily, there are other clues to consider.

First, a fan account on Twitter claimed to have noticed a stamp reading "Project Witness" on the cherry pie truck the singer took to Times Square last week to promote her new single, "Bon Appetit."

Still not enough proof something is up? There have been rumors that Katy teased part of a song called "Witness" in Instagram and Snapchat stories.

With so many devoted Katycats already onto her, there's no way the Met Gala co-chair was going to get this major clue past them. As soon as she hit the red carpet, they started tweeting their excitement for "Witness," predicting it to be the name of her upcoming fourth album.

Between the bright red color, layers of tulle, beading, and metal accents, Katy certainly rocked a bold Met Gala look. But none of those embellishments can compare to the black thread on her headpiece that makes a huge statement.

If this is how the singer is introducing "Witness" to the public, we can only imagine what the project itself will bring.
