Katy Perry Finally Speaks Out About Her "Swish Swish" Lyrics And Taylor Swift
It's no secret there is some serious bad blood between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.
C'mon, you've seen the action-hero video for "Bad Blood" where Swifty and Co. are aimlessly firing back at a certain someone pouring salt in the pop star's wounds.
Katy has her own kickass anthem now with "Swish Swish," and many fans seem to have a pretty good idea who the tune is referring to.
This new hit featuring Nicki Minaj is definitely taking a dig at someone. Have a look at the lyrics for yourself:
Don't you come for me No, not today You're calculated I got your number 'Cause you're a joker And I'm a court side killer queen
Could this quite possibly be about our favorite serial dater, Ms. Swift? Is this Katy's response to "Bad Blood?"
When Katy decided to say, "don't you come for me," the Swift Squad came for her... one of the squad members, anyway.
Ruby Rose fired back with this tweet that has garnered a lot of attention.
I'm not going to try to fool you — I've sat here re-reading this frigging tweet 12 times trying to make sense of it, but they tell me it's a dig at Katy, so I'm going to go with that.
Katy decided to take matters into her own hands while on "The Tonight Show" and gave Jimmy Fallon the scoop on who the song is really about.
"I think it's a great anthem for people to use whenever someone's trying to hold you down or bully you, she said. "It's a liberation from all the negative that doesn't serve you."
Oh, I totally get it now. She's not referring to anyone specific, so the song is most definitely about someone specific (*cough* Taylor *cough*).
I feel like I'm watching "Mean Girls" unfold in real life. It's kind of sad that these two can't seem to escape high school, huh?
