Lea Michele Posts Intimate, Never-Before-Seen Photo With Late BF Cory Monteith
Almost four years have passed since Lea Michele lost boyfriend and “Glee” co-star Cory Monteith to a drug overdose in 2013, but he hasn't stopped being a force in her life.
The 30-year-old actress shared an intimate photo on Instagram of herself and Cory cuddling in 2012, labeled “Bleeker St.”
The pair dated for roughly a year and a half prior to Cory's unexpected death, and, on occasion, Lea will still share sweet memorial photos and messages.
On the third anniversary of his death this past summer, she wrote,
We may not have gotten to share a lifetime together.. But the memories.. they're the best of my life.. Love you Cory.
The “Scream Queens” star bears a tattoo of the number five, remembering her lost love by the football jersey his character wore on “Glee.” She also has a "Finn" tattoo she debuted in her photo shoot for Women's Health Magazine.
Following Cory's death, Lea opened up to everyone's chosen mom, Ellen DeGeneres, about living with grief.
She told the daytime host,
There is an empowerment that comes with grief — at some point you find it… It's very hard but you will find it, and I think at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this or you can choose to rise. And that's what I'm just trying to do my best for him, because I know that that's what he would have [wanted].
Lea eventually re-entered the dating pool, most recently with “One Tree Hill” alum Robert Buckley.
The pair dated for a few months in the spring of 2016, but called it quits by June.
A source told Us Weekly,
[They] just found they were better off as friends and wanted to support each other's careers.
Who needs a significant other to hold at night when you have a career to keep you warm? In the wise words of my very romantic and definitely not competitive-bordering-on-dangerous mother, "Use him for his connections."
