Naomi Watts And Liev Schreiber Followed Brangelina's Footsteps And Broke Up

Curse you, Cupid! First, you take away Brangelina, and now you cause Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber to split?

After being in a relationship together since 2005, the acting power couple have taken the long, sad train to Splitsville, USA (population: the two of them). Choo, choo, wimper, wimper.

On the subject of their breakup, the two released a joint statement to ET, saying,

Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship. While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy.

The couple recently appeared very much together at the Toronto Film Festival for the September 10 premiere of "The Bleeder," a movie they both acted in.

Whoa, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie also starred in "By The Sea" and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" together.

It's been 16 days since Naomi and Liev appeared together. A lot can change in 16 days. My middle school girlfriend and I only lasted for 15 days... so yeah, I feel your pain, you two.

Of course, here is the last picture Naomi posted of Liev and their son 9-year-old Alexander "Sasha" Pete as the father-son team suited up for the Emmys.

I'm glad that this split appears to be amiable and not tumultuous like the Brangelina divorce.

While the two never officially tied the know, they have two children together: Sasha and 7-year-old Samuel "Sammy" Kai.

Is 2016 the year that love officially dies?! Do any of us hopeful romantics have (what's the word...) hope?
