20 Reasons To Love Jennifer Lawrence Even More Than We Already Do
In the midst of celebrity downfall, cough Miley Cyrus cough, one star continues to rise above — and that is none other than Jennifer Lawrence. If you have been following my articles, you may have noticed many references to this icon, so this tribute should come as no surprise.
Yes tribute, I see you Katniss. I am not alone in my admiration for this woman as she is constantly praised across the Internet.
Jennifer, can we just become best friends, already? I’m completely certain we would get along perfectly. You like to get drunk at work, I like to get drunk because of work — it’s a match made in heaven, if I do say so myself.
Well enough about me, let's get back to you. In honor of the opening night of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," let's take a look at all of the reasons we love Jennifer Lawrence.
1. She wore a fat suit on Halloween
Jennifer Lawrence has reconfirmed our beliefs that she is the coolest motherf*cker out there. While other celebrities were getting down to their nitty- gritties, JLaw went for a fat suit in the theme of a witch. She even went as far as to pick up a set of puffy fat cheeks to complete the outfit. This actress is well known for her stance on body image -- aka she doesn’t give a sh*t.
2. She embraced a crying fan
During an interview on the red carpet at the premiere of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” in London, JLaw noticed a fan crying behind security gates and she took a minute to hug the fan until she felt better.
This fan was bound to a wheelchair and could not see what was going on in front of her. What else would a person like Lawrence do besides abruptly leave her interview and comfort this young girl?
3. She recognizes how traumatizing a camel toe can be
"I was surprised at how little camel toe problem there was. I was expecting a lot more,” Lawrence told E! about her "Hunger Games" costume. The characters spend the majority of their time in this film in wetsuits and all females can relate to the problem women have with onesies, rompers and camel toes.
4. She hates exercising
One of her most famous lines is, “I hate saying, ‘I like exercising.’ I want to punch people who say that in the face.” You tell ‘em JLaw.
5. She doesn’t support twerking
It’s great to know there are young role models for people everywhere and that just because one star is reaching new lows, others don’t feel the need to follow suit. According to The NY Daily News, what she wants to say most is: “It is a part of the entertainment industry that sells. For some disgusting reason, young sex sells even more.”
To whom could this actress be referring other than pop star Miley Cyrus? JLaw recently took part in an interview with BBC’s News “about her opinion on the sexualization of young women in Hollywood like Miley Cyrus.” Would you expect any type of reaction from her other than disgust?
6. She chopped her hair off and doesn’t give a sh*t
Jennifer Lawrence is the latest celebrity to cut her hair pixie style and, honestly, we love it. Any style she rocks is considered cool because that’s just the type of person she is. She definitely has the features to pull off a pixie cut and doesn’t care what anyone thinks — so if you don’t like her new 'do, you can keep your opinions to yourself.
7. She is a straight smoke show
No further explanation needed, she's f*cking hot.
8. She is Katniss Everdeen
Finally the Gen-Y female has a "superhero" to look up to. Very rarely do you find a woman in this role as it is usually a man who proves victorious. 9. She sh*ts her pants and isn’t afraid to admit it
According to E!, “I thought I had an ulcer, but it turns out it was a ‘fulcer,’ I went to the emergency room. I just had this really bad pain for, like, three weeks. And you know you can only sh*t your pants so many times a day before you go to the emergency room, before you’re like ‘I need to go to the hospital.’”
10. She gets star struck
Despite being a celebrity herself, JLaw's jaw drops when she encounters her own celebrity idols. Watch her bug out when she sees Jeff Bridges.
11. She gets drunk at work
According to NY Magazine, “during a Google Hangout Q&A, the cast chatted about their favorite day filming. Josh Hutcherson said they were “just running around acting like total idiots.” And J.Law added: We were drunk! That was fun. That was the first time I’ve ever drank at work!”
12. She knows how to accentuate her assets

13. She thrives in embarrassing situations
She laughed her ass off after she tripped and fell on the stairs at the Oscars when she went up to accept the award for Best Actress. “Thank you so much,” she told the audience. “This is nuts. You guys are only standing up because I fell and you feel bad. That was embarrassing.” She didn’t even hesitate when her dress fell apart as she rose to accept her award for Best Female Actor at the Screen Actors Guild awards.
14. She went to therapy for severe social anxiety
When you think of Jennifer Lawrence, you think of a young, confident and beautiful woman. You would assume that she displayed these characteristics all throughout her life, but that is far from the case. Lawrence struggled with social anxiety and experienced feelings of worthlessness so much so that she had to seek professional help.
15. She loved Justin Timberlake just as much as we did
What do Jennifer Lawrence and the rest of Gen-Y women have in common? The fact that we all crushed on Justin Timberlake back in the day.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Lawrence revealed that she was labelled “fat” and encouraged to lose weight by Hollywood producers. “It was just the kind of sh*t that actresses have to go through,” said the 23-year-old Oscar winner. “Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn’t lose a certain amount of weight.
They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet. They thought that because of the way my career had gone, it wouldn’t still hurt me.”
