Selena Gomez Finally Has A New Song Coming And It'll Make You Want To Dance
OK, 2016 may have sucked, but Selena Gomez is about to answer our prayers and make 2017 a whole lot better.
The 24-year-old singer will be partnering with Mexican singer Paulina Rubio to create new music in the upcoming year.
According to the 45-year-old artist, Selena will be featured on her next album. Paulina Rubio told Vanidades magazine,
My new album is like another member of the team, or the family. It will be a true warrior, has something from all genres, from band to pop, collaborations of DJ Snake and Selena Gomez.
She added,
I tried to keep a key element: That the music is danceable.
Woahhh, big news. I guess this officially confirms Selena Gomez's return to music.
Two weeks ago, songwriter Justin Tranter posted a photo on Instagram of the "Hands To Myself" singer putting on makeup in a recording studio.
Fans immediately assumed Selena was making new music, and Nick Jonas even commented on the photo to fuel the rumors.
YAY! It's really happening.
Selena Gomez took a break from music in 2016 to focus on her health and seek professional treatment.
About a year ago, the star revealed she has lupus — a chronic autoimmune disease that can severely damage the body.
She explained to PEOPLE magazine,
I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.
Selena made her return to the spotlight at the American Music Awards in November where she addressed her battle with the disease.
She told the audience,
In 2014, this stage was the first time I was actually, authentically 100 percent honest with all of you. I think it's safe to say that most of you know a lot of my life, whether I liked it or not. And… I had to stop. Because I had everything, and I was absolutely broken inside. And I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.
Thanks for always being real with us, Selena. We look forward to dancing to your awesome collaboration with Paulina Rubio in the upcoming year.
