Katy Perry did more than turn heads at Monday's annual Met Gala event. The pop icon and "Chained to the Rhythm" singer energized the internet into compiling one of its most amazing opuses: A stunning excavation into all the things Katy Perry looks like at the Met Gala... instead of, you know, looking like the Katy Perry we've all come to know and love.

According to a Vogue.com exclusive, Perry's Met Gala dress was a "custom John Galliano-designed crimson wool coat over a tulle and chiffon gown covered in sparkling embellishment." Perry also wore a veil and headdress with the words "Witness" written in between two blue panels. According to Vogue, "layers of ruched detail provided visual interest and a fantastic take on glamour, with crystals, satin ribbon, and embroidery interwoven into a seamless creation. The final look felt like wearable art, making it the perfect tribute to one of fashion's true artists."

Everyone called her look the most daring of the Met Gala, and it's hard to find reason to disagree.
