Dave Grohl Had The Greatest Response To The Viral 'Learn To Fly' Video
In case you were wondering if Dave Grohl is classy as hell, the answer is "yes."
Dave Grohl è elegante come l'inferno.
Last week, 1,000 fans in Cesena, Italy filmed themselves playing the Foo Fighter's 1999 hit “Learn to Fly” in perfect unison and uploaded it to YouTube in the hopes it would convince the band to visit and perform.
The participants, including organizer Fabio Zaffagnini, got their answer just one day after uploading the video when Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl uploaded a video of his own to his band's Facebook page.
The rocker addressed his Cesena fans, rightfully in Italian, and promised their hard work would see some reward.
A Facebook commenter did the duty of translating the video, in which Grohl apparently says,
Hi, Cesena! I am David, hello. I'm sorry, I don't speak Italian. Only a little, a little. That video - but how beautiful! Very beautiful. Thank you very much [literally: a thousand thanks]. We are arriving [coming], I promise. We'll see each other soon. Thank you very much. I love you. Bye.
Clearly, if you show the Foo Fighters some love, you get a whole lot in return.
