Spit?!
It’s time to start worrying about Don’t Worry Darling. On Sept. 5, cast members of the controversial upcoming film attended the Venice Film Festival premiere where an array of newsworthy moments occurred.
Earlier in the day on Sept. 5, the cast — Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, Chris Pine, and Olivia Wilde — attended a press conference. Noticeably, lead actor Florence Pugh was absent.
Pugh didn’t attend the conference reportedly due to scheduling conflicts with her role in the Dune sequel. When she did arrive, Pugh did so in style, and her strut spurred a meme. It was just the first viral moment of the weekend for the cast.
Pugh finally joined the cast on the red carpet. Honestly, I’d pay real money for the tea on how this photo lineup was determined. Notably, Pugh, Styles, and Wilde (who are at the center of the rumored drama surrounding the film) are not standing next to one another.
Clad in a monochrome black ensemble, Pugh dazzled at the premiere in a silver speckled, off-the-shoulder gown with high-waist shorts and feathered heels.
Pratt was clearly a fan of Pugh, so much so that his “You’re doing amazing, sweetie” moment became the second major viral moment of the night.
Inside the Sala Grande at the Palazzo del Cinema, controversy only heightened. This time, Harry Styles potentially spat on Chris Pine. Well, at least the internet seems to think so.
Slip on your sleuth hat, watch the viral clip here, and decide for yourself.
With so many eyes on the cast members, Pine couldn’t help but become a meme throughout the premiere. His zoning out during an interview alongside Styles also blew up online. As one Twitter user joked, it looked like Chris Pine was astral projecting.
The final surprising moment of the night happened inside the premiere when Harry Styles and co-star, Nick Kroll, kissed during the film’s seven-minute standing ovation.
