Your Guide To Creating The Perfect 'GOT' Couples Halloween Costume
Halloween is less than two months away, and for those who need to plan to do a costume with their spouse, or their significant other, now's the time to start planning. When it comes to doing a pair of costumes, planning had to be done ahead of time, since there's twice as much work, but twice as much reward. And everyone knows the best couples go as Game of Thrones couples. In that spirit here are several Game of Thrones couples costume ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
When it comes to Game of Thrones costuming, what we see on the screen can look very daunting. But that's part of why doing a couples' costume can work to your advantage. It's one thing to try and go as Daenerys Targaryen by one's self. But if you miss the mark on the wig (which is very easy to do) and you're all alone, who's to say you won't be mistake for a weirdly pale anime character?
But if you go and you have a Drogo on your arm, or a Jon Snow, suddenly the discrepancies can be forgiven, as clearly you guys are a couple, reinforcing each other's look.
Let's consider our best options per season, and then a few more bonus ones below.
Classic Season 1: Dany & Drogo
Drogo is really easy, men, as long as you're okay with being shirtless. Black breeches and blue lines on your chest and your set. Dany's wedding gown is pretty easy too, just make sure it's violetish and billowy.
Romantic Season 2: Robb & Talisa
Who can forget the marriage that brought down the Starks for almost a generation? Robb needs a brown tunic and fur line cloak. Talisa is head to toe blue , with a cloak, and lace up front.
Ironic Season 3: Sansa & Tyrion
Despite Tyrion's actual love interest in Season 3 being her maid, Sansa's the one he marries, and let's be real, if you're going to do a Tyrion couple character, your wife doesn't want to be Shae. Bonus if you can manage the hair rolls.
High End Season 4: Joffrey & Margaery
Because this way your guy has an excuse to be a jerk, and you have an excuse to try for that blue dress, with all the thorns on display.
Adorable Season 5: Sam & Gilly
The easiest one, with Sam in the Ikea rug Night's Watch outfit and Gilly is burlap rags. Don't forget Baby Sam!
Fan Favorite Season 6: Brienne & Tormund
Be the hit of the party, by turning up as Brienne and Tormund. Bonus if you tell everyone about the monster babies you'll make. Wildling outfits are easy--a bunch of faux fur rugs. Brienne's armor is harder, but you can always go with her dressed down tunic look.
Endgame Season 7: Jon Snow & Daenerys Targaryen
One of Daenery's easiest dresses (though that wig is a killer.) Jon Snow just needs black and grey with a black fur lined cloak.
Current Cersei & Jaime
Cersei's black gown and mop top look is the easiest one she's got. Jaime out of armor is also his easiest look. Don't forget your goblets and gold hand.
Real Life: Jon Snow & Ygriette
Wildling looks, as we said before, are easy, and you get bonus points for Kit Harington and Rose Leslie being a couple in real life.
Old School: Renly & Loras
Because who doesn't want to do the matching gold& silver armor look? Bonus if you can get a Margaery to follow you around.
Deadest: Oberyn & Ellaria
Oberyn's a big yellow bathrobe, Ellaria's a yellow bikini top and skinny pants. What's not to love, other than them being dead?
Obscurest: Trystane & Myrcella
Highly suggested for those who want to explain they're not a Disney couple all night.
Best: The Lady of Winterfell & Her Executioner
You and your BFF want to do this. You know you do. Bonus if you can get a Bran to join you.
Worst: Sansa & Ramsay
Only recommended if you really want to go for Sansa's second wedding gown.
Weirdest: Tommen & Margaery
So cute, yet so weird, and so wrong. Probably better if you can get a Cersei to glare at you all night.
