Actor Who Voiced Jar Jar Binks Says Michael Jackson Wanted His Role (Video)

Perhaps what brings "Star Wars" fans together more than anything else is their mutual hatred of the CGI disaster that is Jar Jar Binks.

Ahmed Best, who was the voice actor and motion model for the universally disliked character of the prequels, finally spoke out about the character in a recent Skype interview with YouTube host Jamie Stangroom.

Among other things, Best revealed the rumor that Michael Jackson wanted to be Jar Jar Binks is true.

Apparently, George Lucas explained the situation to Best after an incredibly awkward encounter with Michael Jackson at the pop legend's concert.

Best revealed,

George [Lucas] said, 'Well Michael was kind of lobbying for the role, he really wanted to do it. But he wanted to do it with prosthetics and makeup'... And George wanted to do the CGI thing.

Oh, MAN, we were SO CLOSE, YOU GUYS. To be honest, I don't know if a Michael Jackson Jar Jar would have been good, but I feel like anything would have better than the awful computer-generated disaster.

Best also added he is definitely done with the role forever, presumably because he loves himself, so let's all just pray we never see that annoying possible Sith lord again.
