I don’t think Lizzo and her comedian BF, Myke Wright, could be more adorable if they tried. These lovebirds met six years ago and started out purely platonic. These days? “He’s the love of my life. We are life mates,” the “About Damn Time” singer told Vanity Fair on Oct. 11. S’cute!
OK, it’s so romantic that Lizzo and Myke first met in ~Wonderland.~ They were the cohosts and stars of the MTV music series in 2016. Obviously, there was some friendly chemistry then, but the two weren’t romantically linked until Oct. 2021.
Lizzo giggled when she confirmed her relationship status to Andy Cohen on April 18, 2022. He asked if she was seeing the “mystery man” she’d been photographed with, to which Lizzo replied, “Yeah, whatever, yeah.”
Some commotion for the coupley hands, please! And, um, might there be an engagement ring on that finger soon? 👀 The Grammy winner told Vanity Fair that marriage isn’t her priority, but she does love parties. “I like weddings. I would like to have a wedding over a marriage,” Lizzo shared.
Lizzo told Vanity Fair, “People fight for monogamy like they pray to it every day. I'm not thinking about sex when I think about monogamy and rules.” She added, “I'm thinking about the autonomy and independence of him and me.” 👏 👏
Lizzo posted this sweet pic in a Sept. 11 Instagram dump and I’m obsessed. Myke’s smile! He looks thrilled to be a part of Lizzo’s mother’s birthday celebration. “My mom opening her Gucci bag is a MOOD - I love you mommy happy birthday,” the singer captioned her post.
Is it tough to be in a relationship under the spotlight? “If you have the right person, no. Not at all. It’s not even a factor,” Lizzo told Cohen. “It should be mutually supportive no matter what that person does.” I love this for them!
In July, Lizzo appeared on “The Breakfast Club” radio show and opened up about love and her relationship. “I don’t want any rules,” she said. “There are just no expectations, and that way, the love gets to just be the main event.”
