Don’t Worry Darling is a psychological thriller directed by Olivia Wilde and set in the 1950s. The character Styles plays is American, but his British accent says otherwise, according to the newest teaser drop.

Styles worked with vocal coach Paul Meier to perfect his American accent, but the cameras might have rolled a little too soon.

Styles’ accent is unmistakable, even when he’s trying to make it sound American.

Most fans are confused and trying to get to the bottom of it with an unofficial accent investigation.

Styles sounds like a British person doing an American accent that sounds like an American person doing a British accent. That 360 made me dizzy.

Styles got his first acting gig in the 2017 war movie Dunkirk, but Don’t Worry Darling is his first lead role.

Some fans speculate that the accent is intentionally more British than American, but others aren’t so sure.

Don’t Worry Darling will hit theaters on September 23, when you’ll be able to judge the accent for yourself.
