Miley Updated "Party In The U.S.A." To Include "Free Britney" At Her July 4 Show
Miley's been a massive Britney fan for so long.
Miley Cyrus is a proud supporter of the #FreeBritney movement. Yep, Cyrus made her voice loud and clear during her Independence Day concert by recognizing that not everyone was feeling free during the Fourth of July holiday. At one point, Miley Cyrus screamed "free Britney" during her Fourth of July show and the crowd went wild.
Cyrus hit the stage in Las Vegas on July 4, where she played her very timely hit song “Party in the U.S.A.” At one point, she switched up the lyrics to include a nod to Spears’ recent court hearing. "The taxi man turned on the radio, he turned to me and said, 'Free Britney, Free Britney!" Cyrus sang at the show.
The song’s original lyrics reference several celebrities including Spears and Jay-Z, but Cyrus made it clear she’s got Brit top of mind right now. "We love Jay-Z, but we got to free this b*tch. It's stressing me the f*ck out!” she told the crowd.

Cyrus has been the ultimate Britney stan for years, and she’s been incredibly vocal about supporting her especially amid her recent conservatorship battle. In February 2021, Cyrus' Super Bowl pre-show performance gave Spears a shout-out. The show took place just days after the Framing Britney Spears documentary hit Hulu, and Cyrus made her stance very clear. After singing the verse which included Spears’ name, Cyrus said, "We love Britney."
Cyrus also showed her love for Spears in October 2020 when she covered her song “Gimme More” for the MTV Unplugged series. In a zebra print dress and massive white shades, Cyrus delivered her best rendition of the 2007 hit and slayed the whole way through.
Dozens of celebrities have spoken out in support of the #FreeBritney movement in recent months, but Cyrus has been showing her support since day one.
