Sad news: “Mob Wives” star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola has died after a nearly year-long battle with throat cancer, the New York Times reports. She was 55 years old.

Raiola was first diagnosed in March 2015, when doctors found and removed a lemon-sized tumor from the left side of her throat. Three months later, the mother-of-two underwent a second procedure to remove a growth from the right side of her throat.

By December 2015, however, doctors discovered the stage 4 cancer had spread to Raiola's brain and lungs.

Though Raiola immediately resumed treatment, the cancer proved too advanced to respond. The “Mob Wives” star ultimately succumbed to the illness in the hospital on Thursday.

Raiola, who separated from her husband Neil Murphy earlier this year, is survived by her two children and six grandchildren.

A GoFundMe account set up earlier this month to help cover Raiola's medical expenses has raised more than $45,000. You can help the family by donating here.
