We're back in the g-game, baby.

Welcome to Poguelandia. The third season of John B’s journey sets sail on Feb. 23, but before you start the next treasure hunt, you’re going to need to refresh your memory on all the chaotic twists that happened in Outer Banks Season 2. Because a lot of stuff went down.

Netflix

Rumors of John B and Sarah Cameron’s death after Season 1 were greatly exaggerated. While everyone in the Outer Banks thought the lovebirds died in a hurricane, they actually hitched a ride to Nassau to try to steal back the Royal Merchant’s gold from Ward.

Netflix

John B and Sarah managed to steal the gold with some help from pirates Terrance and Cleo, but Sarah’s brother Rafe shot her in the process. John B was able to get Sarah to a nearby doctor in time to save her life, but sadly, Ward reclaimed the gold.

Back on the mainland, Pope, JJ, and Kiara went to Carla Limbrey’s mansion to try to clear John B’s name. She asked Pope to give her the key for a treasure known as the Cross of Santo Domingo, but when he insisted he didn’t know what that was, she tried to kidnap him.

John B and Sarah managed to flee Nassau, and while on their escape boat, they got (unofficially) married. They eventually landed in Charleston, where they reunited with the Pogues running from Limbrey’s lackey, Renfield.

Upon returning to the OBX, John B was arrested for Sheriff Peterkin’s murder... until the police finally investigated Ward. Rather than going down, though, Ward submitted a full confession and then blew himself up on his boat.

Netflix

Using clues from the diary of his ancestor Denmark Tanny, Pope located the Cross of Santo Domingo in Tanny’s church. However, because Pope passed out from wasp stings, the Pogues had to rush him to get help, leaving the cross out in the open for Renfield and Rafe to grab.

Netflix

After a shootout between Carla and Renfield left Renfield dead, Rafe took the cross for himself. He and the rest of his family loaded the cross on a ship, with his step-mom, Rose, drugging Sarah to bring her along without a fight.

Netflix

When Sarah awoke on the ship, she was met with a huge surprise: Her dad, Ward, had faked his death in the boat explosion, and he was there with the rest of the family to pawn off the cross. Luckily, the Pogues also managed to stow away on the ship.

Netflix

While plotting how to save Sarah and the cross, the Pogues reunited with an unexpected ally. Cleo from Nassau was working on the ship, and she decided to join the Pogues when she learned Sarah was in trouble.

Netflix

John B was able to save Sarah by nearly killing Ward in a fight, but the rest of the Pogues failed to get the cross back from Rafe. The whole Pogue crew, including new Pogue Cleo, escaped on a dinghy, leaving the Camerons with the gold and the cross.

Netflix

The season seemed to conclude with the Pogues washing ashore on a deserted island. They quickly dubbed the island Poguelandia, and set about building their new home there.

Netflix

But Season 2 couldn’t end without one more twist. The final scene revealed John B’s dad was still alive and working with Carla Limbrey on something big.
