This 'Bachelorette' Contestant Knew Rachel Before Going On The Show

Ever have that thing where you're a boy in elementary school and you're in love with an upperclassman girl in middle school, and then 15 years go by and you end up as a contestant on a reality TV show in which the soul objective is to beat out multiple other attractive, talented, (rich?) men for her heart?

Me neither, BUT FRED SURE DOES.

Fred is a 27-year-old executive assistant who weirdly knew Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay from way back in the day. He was a campgoer, and she was his counselor.

Romantic or creepy?! I can't decide!!!

Fred whips out his yearbook which I guess is, like, maybe a power move?, and Rachel recalls that he was always getting into trouble as a kid.

Hard to tell if that bodes well for Fred, but something tells me a man that confident in a beige, crewneck sweater doesn't need our luck.

I mean look at it. Talk about confidence.

To his credit, it does look like he tends to dress like his hero, ELLEN DEGENERES, who he shouted out in his ABC bio. Fred says if he could be anyone for a day, it would be her because, "she seems to love what she does and people's days are brightened when they are around her."

Ugh, so agreed, Fred.

He loses me a little by saying his perfect date would include his mom and sisters, but let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt and hope that despite his two graduate degrees (we GET IT, FRED) he misunderstood the question.

We had previously predicted Fred would be a front runner for Rachel due to their history, but it's too close to call at this point.

In the mean time, I'm just going to do quick google of my previous high school sweethearts just to see what they're up to. Ya know, like, to be safe.
