Rihanna Just Dropped Her New Single In The Latest 'Star Trek' Trailer

In case you missed it, there is a new “Star Trek” making its way to theaters in late July, and the only thing more out of this universe than the literal voyages of USS Enterprise is Rihanna's new song.

On Instagram yesterday, Rihanna teased she was dropping her new single “Sledgehammer” with the newest trailer.

DON'T ASK QUESTIONS ON HOW THE TWO ARE RELATED, JUST GO WITH IT! Never look a gift Roddenberry in the mouth!

The song is incredible, by the way. It's less of a pop-y and club friendly jam and more of a slowed-down space ballad. Less "werk werk werk werk werk" and more "weerrrrRRRrrrrkkkkkKKKk." You know what I mean?

It's like Adele's “Skyfall” but with Zoe Saldana and Chris Pine instead of Daniel Craig and some hot ladies drowning.

Come to think of it, this has to be up there as one of the best songs from a major artist for the release of a movie. Granted, we haven't heard the full song yet, but I'm a believer.

You can try and not like it, but let me warn you, RIRISISTANCE is futile.
