Rihanna Opens Up To Vanity Fair About Relationship With Chris Brown
The beautiful Rihanna posed for the cover of the November issue of Vanity Fair.
In a tell-all interview, she bravely shared details about her former relationship with Chris Brown.
On February 7, 2009, Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna in his Lamborghini and left her bruised and battered. In this interview, Rihanna shared why she chose to get back together with Brown after the incident and lifted the restraining order against him.
She said,
I was that girl, that girl who felt that as much pain as this relationship is, maybe some people are built stronger than others... Maybe I'm the person who's almost the guardian angel to this person, to be there when they're not strong enough, when they're not understanding the world, when they just need someone to encourage them in a positive way and say the right thing.
She mentioned she "a hundred percent" thought she could change Brown after the episode.
She added,
I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn't understand him.
Rihanna further discussed how being a victim of domestic violence damaged her self-image.
She said,
If you put up with it, maybe you are agreeing that you [deserve] this, and that's when I finally had to say, 'Uh-oh, I was stupid thinking I was built for this.' Sometimes you just have to walk away.
Rihanna said she doesn't have much of a relationship with Chris Brown anymore, but she will forever care about him.
