The Trash Bag Killer just won’t stop stalking Betty, and everyone knows he has some sort of twisted affection for her. With the prime suspect (Glen) becoming TBK’s latest victim, Riverdale fans are trying to piece together theories about who the Trash Bag Killer is.
Everything about TBK screams Hal Cooper: his build, his voice, his penchant for black face coverings, and most importantly, his connection to Betty. Hal was presumably killed in Season 3, but there have been teases he’ll be back, and hints that he’s behind the bag.
A serial killer who’s fiercely protective of Betty? Seen that before. Betty shot her half-brother Charles in Season 5, but then confirmed he was recovering in the ICU. That means he’s probably not dead, making him a prime TBK suspect.
Another of Betty’s archenemies still on the loose, Donna has spent her whole life plotting the perfect murder and stewing on revenge. Viewers definitely picked up on a vibe between Donna and Betty, which also fuels the TBK theory.
Hiram is presumably dead, but fans know that doesn’t really mean anything on Riverdale. If he was able to fake his death, TBK may be his way to secretly return to Riverdale and get his hands bloody again.
Viewers still don’t know a lot about Percival, other than the fact that he’s going to be a villain in Season 6. This may lead up to the big reveal that he’s been the killer all along.
A particularly twisted theory that has emerged is that Jughead could be entering a fugue state and becoming TBK to get out his frustrations with Betty. His blackouts, hallucinations, and that angry voicemail he left Betty seem to support this.
