Sarah Michelle Gellar Honors Robin Williams With A Touching Tribute
One year has passed since the world lost actor, comedian and, let's be honest, father to us all, Robin Williams.
To honor the anniversary of his passing, Williams' TV daughter on "The Crazy Ones," Sarah Michelle Gellar, posted a photo to her Instagram, featuring the wooden bench from "Good Will Hunting."
In the movie, Williams plays a therapist aiming to help Matt Damon's emotionally wounded and exceptionally gifted character open up, and the two have an inspirational conversation on the bench.
Gellar posted the photo with a quote by 19th-century poet Ralph Waldo Emerson that read,
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded.
Succeeding Emerson's quote, Gellar wrote,
You have succeeded RW #RobinWilliams
The tribute was a bittersweet reminder of the joy Williams brought to those who witnessed his work.
